Starring Jerry as Himself is a true story about a Taiwanese immigrant who lost all of his life savings through a scam. It’s action-packed, somber, and hilarious all at the same time, so we decided to lean into the chaos. Instead of a traditional documentary, we turned his story into a series of three fake trailers - each one treating his very real, very absurd experience like the Hollywood blockbuster it deserves to be. I edited each trailer to build suspense, land the joke, and leave the audience wanting the next one.
